We use a modified American Idol-type format in our Battle of the Seattle Law
Firm Bands competition. Two of our veteran celebrity
judges are returning for the 2008 Lawyerpalooza event along with one
newcomer!
Anne
Bremner -- Stafford Frey Cooper, partner. Anne is a noted local litigator,
having obtained defense verdicts in the Mary Kay Letourneau case, the Robert
Thomas Sr./Mel Miller inquests, and many others. She's been featured on Dateline
NBC, Court TV, MSNBC, Good Morning America and The Today Show, and has been a
regular on the (national) Fox News Channel.
Gene
Stout -- Pop Music Critic for the Seattle
P-I for more than 20 years. He grew up listening to Pat O'Day on KJR, spent hours interviewing Courtney
Love after Kurt Cobain's death and has reviewed hundreds of concerts. He admits
to being a sucker for a great musical hook and has a CD collection large enough
to bury him in an earthquake.
Deborah Semer -- Chair of the Education Committee of the Seattle Arts Commission for the past six years,
she has been a leader in restoring arts education in Seattle Public Schools and establishing a long-term partnership
between the city and the district. Semer is owner of Atmosphere Artist Management and Consulting and former Executive
Director of the PNW Chapter of the Recording Academy from 1998-2004. She also plays the drums and keyboards and debuts
as a DJ this year at ‘Crank it Up’ in South Park, Seattle.
